Taste 2017 is a culmination of all the great "tastes" Central Texas has to offer...the divine food, thirst quenching drinks, amazing local businesses and extraordinary non-profits.
United Way of Hays & Caldwell Counties fights for every person in every community. In times of disaster, yes, like we did in 2015 during the devastating floods in our own communities. But we also fight for every person in times of what most will think of as normal day-to-day activities when some families are facing their own "Hurricanes Harvey or Irma," "Memorial Day Flood" or "All Saints Day Flood." A job loss for a single mom can feel like a hurricane of emotions. A 3rd grader that cannot read the words in his book or on his standardized test can face a flood of fear and stress. A victim of neglect or child abuse is facing the worst type of disaster imaginable. United Way helps with all of these disasters and so many more by directing your donations to programs that provide direct support to over 50,000 residents of Hays & Caldwell Counties each year. As you reflect on the fear and uncertainty so many are feeling right now after the devastating storms and the horrific tragedy that unfolded in Las Vegas this week, we ask you to remember that families throughout our own communities are facing similar feelings every day. Taste 2017 is an event in which our community can come together to fight for these families. We hope to see you there! |
