was laid on August 15, 1893 and the building was completed

The Caldwell County Museum, built in 1908-09 to serve
as the Caldwell County Jail, represents a rare example
of the Norman castellated style of architecture.

Dr.
Eugene Clark Library
This
unique and historically significant building was built
with a $10,000 bequest from Dr. Eugene Clark. Dr. Clark
was a native of New Orleans, and his father died on
the battlefield during the Civil War when Dr. Clark

Emmanuel Episcopal Church
The Emmanuel Episcopal Church was built in 1856 and the sanctuary is one of the more significant church buildings west of the Mississippi. Its structure is the oldest Protestant church building west of the Mississippi in use without major modifications. more info>> |
Brock Cabin
The Brock Cabin was built in 1849-1850 by Andrew Lee Brock and is the oldest wooden structure in Caldwell Co. The cabin was a wedding present to his young bride, Rebecca. When it was built, it sat on 200-acres of property given to the newlyweds by the bride’s father. This property was located 2 miles west of Lockhart on Boggy Creek. more info>>
