The 7th Annual Rites of Spring will be held March 26 & 27, 2010 in Lockhart around the Courthouse Square. It is an annual event sponsored by the Lockhart Business Committee, the Lockhart Chamber of Commerce, the Caldwell Co. Commissioners Court, the City of Lockhart, and the Greater Caldwell Co. Chamber of Commerce.
Courthouse Square is transformed for Friday evening and all day Saturday into a celebration of spring which includes garden and lawn vendors, questions and answer sessions with garden experts like Skip Richter, quality handcrafted craft vendors, Nifty Fifty’s Car Show, Easter Egg Hunts, Easter Bonnet Contest, food vendors of all kinds, fruit pie eating contest, cake walk, children’s activity corner, cookie decorating contest, dance and karate performances, live music, and much, much more! Admission is FREE so come down and celebrate Spring in Lockhart! New this year is the Kiwanis’ 5K Stampede.
Businesses around the Square annually host wine tasting from Texas Wineries. As always there is the Caldwell Co. Museum open on Saturday and Sunday and Walking Tours of the Downtown area. Keep checking back for more details and activities as this wonderful Spring festival gets closer.
