The festival is held in conjunction with the Diez Y Seis celebration sponsored by the Caldwell County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the City of Lockhart and the Lockhart Business Cooperative on a Saturday, in September.

Participating businesses prepare a dish and display decorations of their chosen culture. Each participant goes to each business, to taste the cuisine and get their passports stamped. Passports with a majority of the locations stamped are taken to the Hispanic Chamber booth on the square to vote for their favorite cuisine. Stamped passports give the participants a chance to win great door prizes!
