Lockhart! We have always been a favorite in Central
Texas and with the steady growth of our region we stand

City of Lockhart is the county seat of Caldwell
County. Lockhart
even has its own Municipal
Airport.
You
can choose from beautiful historic homes that line our
city's entrance from the West. Older neighborhoods and
growing subdivisions blend harmoniously to provide a
wide selection of housing options. There is something
for everyone!
Within
30 miles of Lockhart are six institutions of higher
learning, including Texas
State University, The
University of Texas, Concordia
College, St.
Edward's University,
Huston-Tillotson College, and Austin
Community College. Lockhart is also equipped with
its own Technology Center offering a large variety of
computer training and video conferencing college courses.
Lockhart's Independent
School District has one kindergarten, four grammar
schools, one junior high, one freshman campus and one
high school.
Two
hospitals serve the Lockhart area, the Seton
Edgar B. Davis Hospital in Luling, and Central
Texas Medical Center in San Marcos. The Lockhart
Caldwell County Emergency Medical Service is second
to none, with three mobile intensive care units in the
fleet. Numerous family physicians, dentists and other
health care professionals round out the medical needs
of our residents. Seton
Lockhart Center for Healthcare is for emergencies
as well as the City
of Lockhart EMS for any emergency.
For
recreation the
Lockhart State Park offer biking, swimming, hiking,
camping, and golf facilities. The
Lake Falling Star RV Resort and The
Leisure Camp and RV Park offers swimming, hiking,
and camping. The
City Park has a large fishing pond and an amphitheater
stage for performances. Swimming is also available as
well as numerous sports activities. The City Park also
hosts a variety of annual events such as, July 4th celebration,
Kidfish, and the Bicycle Rodeo. The
city's Sports Complex is behind the City Park and hosts
various sports activies such as; baseball, little league,
and soccer. The
Lockhart
High School sports a large footall field with a running
track in front.
Lockhart
also is home to the Aviator
Movie Theatres showcasing six movie screens, as
well as two active community theaters that have a large
variety of comedy, drama, and musical productions all
year round. Both theaters have children involvement
with some of their productions and the Baker has a Youth
Actors Workshop. For more information on their season
