Chisholm
Trail is Lockhart's biggest annual festival! The second
week of June, from Wednesday to Sunday held at the Lockhart
City Park. This is a major tourism event for the Lockhart
Chamber of Commerce and the City of Lockhart. The event
is attended by 30,000+ people. Cities and counties from
all over central Texas are represented in the parade
with beautiful parade floats!

The
festival begins Wednesday morning with a Cowboy Breakfast
and on Thursday at 5pm a carnival begins that operates
throughout the festival and ends on Sunday at 8pm. Throughout
the entire event there are various types of music with
local bands and dances on both Friday and Saturday nights.
Chisholm Trail 2009 will be held
June 11-14, 2009.

The
Chisholm Trail Round-up Queen is crowned Thursday night
and an "Awesome Auction" is held the same
night. A "Grand Parade" is held Saturday morning
that attracts entrees from many of the surrounding counties.
The "shoot-out" Barbecue Championship Cook-Off
is held on Saturday as well, when the winner is also
announced. Kiwanis Rodeo takes place both Friday and
Saturday nights.
Come
join us for the festival's horseshoe pitch, fiddling
contest, golf tournament, catfish roundup, great food,
entertainment, and much more! There activities for both
adults and children throughout the event.
